Position Overview: Horizon Farm Credit is currently on the lookout for a skilled Credit Analyst to enhance our operations. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team focused on providing exceptional financial services. We are in search of a meticulous, organized, and analytical individual with experience in agricultural or commercial credit assessment. This position presents a unique opportunity to contribute positively to the agricultural sector and rural communities.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will act as a knowledgeable financial expert, delivering sound credit and financial services in accordance with established regulations and policies. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting thorough financial analyses, including historical trends, projections, debt repayment plans, and risk assessments to support credit recommendations.
  • Drafting comprehensive loan narratives that summarize financial evaluations, emphasizing the five C's of credit while identifying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Collaborating closely with Relationship Managers to finalize credit recommendations.
  • Securing necessary approvals for loan decisions.
  • Staying informed about internal credit practices, loan products, and compliance standards to ensure sound credit judgments.
  • Managing the loan underwriting process efficiently and maintaining effective communication with lending and operations teams.
  • Assisting in the preparation of larger loan packages and monitoring compliance with loan covenants.
  • Engaging in ongoing education regarding agricultural industry trends.
  • Participating in organizational initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Undertaking additional projects and research as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, or Finance.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in agricultural or commercial credit analysis/underwriting.
  • Strong credit judgment and analytical skills to produce accurate and timely credit packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with a diverse team.
  • Proficient analytical and computer skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to work at a desk and utilize a computer for extended periods.
