Quality Assurance Engineer for Robotics

Position Overview:
As a Quality Assurance Engineer at Boston Dynamics, you will be a key member of our Operations division, dedicated to ensuring that our robotic products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Your role will involve collaborating closely with Supply Quality Engineers, Product Engineers, and the Operations team to ensure that our products consistently meet or exceed quality benchmarks. You will be tasked with:
- Overseeing product quality throughout all phases of production, including final acceptance testing and addressing field quality concerns.
- Working with Product Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers to uphold quality standards.
- Implementing inspection and testing methods to evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes and products.
- Ensuring compliance with established quality requirements.
- Engaging with customers to maintain a high level of service quality and managing product returns and non-conformance effectively.
- Identifying and leading improvement initiatives based on data analysis and trends.
- Managing the Material Review Board (MRB) process to ensure effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Facilitating the introduction of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and other process modifications on the manufacturing floor.
- Conducting internal audits and enhancing our Quality Management System as necessary.
- Participating in initiatives aimed at cost reduction and yield enhancement.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or supplier quality role within an ISO 9001 environment.
- Experience with a diverse range of components, including precision machined parts, castings, injection molded plastics, and electronics.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop corresponding quality control plans.
- Proficiency in executing product qualifications and resolving product-related issues.
- Strong reporting, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience in creating and approving change orders related to products, procedures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with reliability methodologies.
