We are seeking a highly skilled Public Affairs Specialist to join our team at the Department of Justice. As a key member of our communications team, you will play a critical role in shaping our public image and promoting our mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective public affairs strategies to promote our mission and values.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align communication efforts with organizational goals.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and respond to media requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, community leaders, and other government agencies.
  • Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership on public affairs and communications matters.
Requirements
  • 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal Service.
  • Experience in planning, designing, and implementing public affairs strategies or initiatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
