Director, Public Affairs Partnerships Specialist

The Director of Public Affairs Partnerships is a seasoned public affairs professional responsible for overseeing and expanding relationships with Semafor's top strategic accounts. With a consultative approach, this role involves managing complex, multi-dimensional public affairs partnerships while aligning solutions with clients' long-term public policy, reputation, and business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Public Affairs Strategy Development: Leverage a deep knowledge of the domestic and global public policy environment to develop effective strategies for clients to achieve their public affairs goals through integrated media and events partnerships with Semafor.
- Consultative Business Development: Leverage a consultative approach to understand client needs, offering tailored solutions that drive key outcomes within strategic accounts.
- Account Management Oversight: Manage and grow complex relationships across multiple levels of client organizations, ensuring long-term satisfaction and partnership.
- Client Engagement: Develop, build, and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing best-in-class service and support across multiple business units and departments within a client organization.
- Sales Presentations: Conceptualize, prepare, and deliver compelling sales presentations, collaborating with internal teams to ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Revenue Targets: Drive outsized revenue growth by achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual sales targets through strategic account planning and engagement.
- Market Insight: Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements that impact key accounts.
- Collaboration: Lead and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that proposals are developed and delivered with excellence.
- Forecasting & Reporting: Accurately forecast revenue and maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities, communicating regularly with sales management.
Qualifications:
- 7-10 years of sales experience
- Expertise within public affairs, government affairs, public policy, and other related areas
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals in a senior sales or account management role.
- Expertise in managing complex, multi-layered client relationships within a B2B environment.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to lead in-person sales conversations.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends and the ability to translate these into actionable sales strategies.
- Ability to travel frequently for client meetings and maintain a high level of client engagement.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Compensation: $160K-$200K base salary with incentive-based commission
