In this role, you will generate new content ideas and provide constructive feedback to writers on articles that delve into software development, DigitalOcean products, Linux infrastructure management, and software installation and configuration. You will champion our audience by aligning content with our style guidelines, ensuring clarity and functionality, and revising articles as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess a background in technical writing or editing, with a passion for being both a mentor and an active contributor to content creation while also shaping the broader vision of our content strategy.

- Oversee our technical content strategy, proposing new topics and establishing processes to enhance team efficiency in content delivery.
- Lead a team of technical writers, offering editorial guidance and supporting their professional development.
- Leverage metrics and data analysis to refine content strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals while maintaining a strong focus on high-quality educational resources.
- Apply your editorial expertise to enhance the technical accuracy, clarity, and overall quality of each tutorial to achieve optimal outcomes for developers.
- Foster collaboration with other teams, including Developer Marketing, Developer Community, and Developer Advocacy.
- Test the tutorials you publish to confirm their functionality.
- Prioritize content maintenance based on various metrics and business considerations.
- Proven experience in writing and editing technical content for developer communities on subjects such as software development, AI/ML, or system administration.
- Familiarity with at least one of the following front-end technologies: JavaScript, React, or Angular.
- Experience with at least one of the following back-end technologies: Go, Python, or Django.
- Ability to articulate software development concepts and best practices while researching new and unfamiliar topics.
- Comfort in providing and receiving candid and thorough feedback.
- Experience with the Linux command line, web application setup, deployment, and overall Linux server management is advantageous.
- Knowledge of DigitalOcean's existing content library and products is a plus.
- Be Proud of Your Work. Join a forward-thinking technology company that is committed to simplifying cloud computing, enabling builders to focus on creating impactful software. As part of our team, you will embody a proactive mindset, taking ownership and responsibility for our customers, products, and decisions.
- Invest in Your Career Development. At DigitalOcean, you will have the opportunity to do your best work. Collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry within a high-performance environment that encourages innovative thinking. Our organizational development team offers resources to support your growth, including reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education. All employees have access to a vast library of online courses to facilitate continuous learning.
- Prioritize Your Well-Being. Regardless of your location, we offer a competitive benefits package to support your overall well-being, including a work-from-home stipend, wellness allowance, and flexible time-off policies. While our benefits philosophy is consistent globally, specific offerings may vary based on local regulations.
- Enjoy Competitive Compensation. The salary range for this position is competitive, reflecting market data, relevant experience, and skills. You may also be eligible for a performance-based bonus, along with equity compensation for qualified employees.
