We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records and Authorization Specialist to join our team at Baxter. As a key member of our Bardy Diagnostic Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records and authorization submissions.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure coverage and payer requirements are met through thorough review of clinical documentation.
- Gather and review clinical documentation to support medical necessity for Cardiology devices.
- Establish and maintain positive partnerships with sales teams and healthcare teams to drive revenue and improve patient outcomes.
- Prepare and submit prior authorization initial and renewal requests to all insurance companies.
- Process authorization decisions from payers in a timely manner to streamline and drive revenue.
- Identify payer trends and establish payer-specific strategies to overcome reimbursement challenges.
- Provide exceptional customer experience by leveraging knowledge of payer policies, coverage criteria, and product information.
- Understand and adhere to all policies for Baxter and 3rd party payers to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
- 3+ years of experience in medical records, authorization, and health insurance within the industry.
- Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations, guidelines, and standards, including a working knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Third party payer experience strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $41,600 to $57,200 annually.
