About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Records and Authorization Specialist to join our team at Baxter. As a key member of our Bardy Diagnostic Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of medical records and authorization submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure coverage and payer requirements are met through thorough review of clinical documentation.
  • Gather and review clinical documentation to support medical necessity for Cardiology devices.
  • Establish and maintain positive partnerships with sales teams and healthcare teams to drive revenue and improve patient outcomes.
  • Prepare and submit prior authorization initial and renewal requests to all insurance companies.
  • Process authorization decisions from payers in a timely manner to streamline and drive revenue.
  • Identify payer trends and establish payer-specific strategies to overcome reimbursement challenges.
  • Provide exceptional customer experience by leveraging knowledge of payer policies, coverage criteria, and product information.
  • Understand and adhere to all policies for Baxter and 3rd party payers to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in medical records, authorization, and health insurance within the industry.
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local regulations, guidelines, and standards, including a working knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Third party payer experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
