Team1Medical is seeking a skilled Prior Authorization Specialist to join their team at an accredited cardiology center in North Houston. The ideal candidate will have experience working with insurance verification in a specialty clinic and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Comply with pre-certification information and forward it to the insurance company to establish medical necessity and prior approval.
- Perform regular follow-up calls with insurance companies to check the status of the prior authorization request.
- Notify patients of any deductible and coinsurance due at the time of service.
- Contact patients directly when necessary to obtain additional insurance information.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Three (3) years of experience is required.
- Experience in an ambulatory center or hospital setting is highly preferred.
- EMR: eCW experience is a strong plus.
- Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekends.
- Large growing cardiovascular center in the North Houston area with a Starbucks in the lobby.
