Job Title: Mail Room Clerk

Job Summary

  • As a Mail Room Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including mail processing, sorting, binding, and delivery.
  • You will prepare mail packages for shipment and interact with shipping and receiving vendors.
  • You will sort interoffice and regular mail by department or individual and log and distribute overnight packages.
  • You will maintain mailroom supply inventories and operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters and mail sorting machines.
  • You will attach filing fees to court documents and scan, bind, and fold documents as needed.
  • You will log certified mail and returned mail and affix and record postage on registered mail and packages.
  • You will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A high school diploma or equivalent GED is required.
  • 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area is preferred.
  • You must have a high level of attention to detail and digital dexterity to fold and stuff large numbers of letters.
  • You must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced work environment and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time.
  • You must be able to carry up to 20 pounds and work independently and in a team environment.
  • You must be competent in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • You must have experience with basic office hardware, such as scanners, fax machines, and copiers.
  • You must demonstrate a strong work ethic and dependability and be able to work occasional Saturdays when required.
  • You must have a valid driver's license.
