A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIAN

As a Fiber Optic Technician, you play a crucial role in our success. You are the representative of our company to our clients, ensuring that we uphold the high standards we strive for. Your responsibilities include completing scheduled cable installations, performing cable splicing, executing fiber terminations, and engaging in maintenance activities related to cable and fiber optic systems. Your ability to interpret complex splicing installation diagrams is essential as you test, certify, and document cable installations.

With meticulous attention to detail, you will troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues. You will safely carry out your tasks both indoors and outdoors, consistently utilizing the appropriate safety equipment. To maintain accurate records of your work, you will document all fiber optic cabling and related maintenance activities. You will enjoy interacting with new clients daily and take pride in delivering exceptional service.


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FIBER OPTIC TECHNICIAN

  • 2-4+ years of relevant experience
  • Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening, including marijuana, upon hire
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • This position is classified as Safety Sensitive, DOT regulated

Experience in copper splicing is preferred. Telecom certifications are advantageous. Do you possess strong customer service and problem-solving abilities? Is your attention to detail exceptional? Do you have excellent analytical skills? If so, you may be an ideal fit for this position.

WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position. Night shifts may be required, and travel may be necessary.
