STS Technical Services is seeking Aerospace Quality Inspectors to join our team.

Position Overview:

The Aerospace Quality Inspector is responsible for evaluating and ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft, systems, equipment, and components in accordance with established standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves conducting thorough preflight and post-flight evaluations while ensuring that all necessary documentation is meticulously completed. The inspector will work from approved schematics, FAA regulations, and other pertinent specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducts comprehensive aircraft inspections, ensuring adherence to specific documentation protocols throughout the inspection process.
  • Generates detailed reports regarding maintenance activities and supplier performance, including status of rejected/non-compliant parts, names of suppliers, quantities, discrepancies, technical evaluations, and recommendations.
  • Performs re-inspections of stock items.
  • Executes inspections related to shipping processes.
  • Monitors and validates quality control measures in line with established processes.
  • Ensures that all inspections are conducted thoroughly on completed tasks in compliance with internal protocols and FAA regulations.
  • Organizes work orders and inspection documentation to facilitate prompt retrieval by the Chief Inspector.
  • Conducts various types of inspections including preliminary, hidden damage, continuity, and final assessments on repaired items.
  • Performs review inspections on aircraft and components to evaluate the quality of workmanship and compliance with standards.
  • Conducts random audits of work packages to ensure documentation meets Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Engages in self-audits of internal quality systems and audits as requested by clients.
  • Assists the Chief Inspector in analyzing quality data to enhance methods, procedures, and systems within the Quality Assurance framework.
  • Undertakes special projects and assignments as directed by the Chief Inspector.
Essential Qualifications:

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Aviation
  • A&P License is required.

Experience:

  • Typically requires 5-7 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic.
  • Prior experience in inspection roles within aerospace quality systems compliant with FAA standards.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and their interpretation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of all tasks and responsibilities within the technical domain.
  • Skills are applicable across multiple technical areas.
  • Familiarity with tools and machinery, including their maintenance and repair.
  • Understanding of customer service principles and processes.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations regarding aircraft maintenance procedures.
  • Able to interpret and understand manufacturer and FAA-approved work instructions; capable of inspecting and installing components.
Work Environment and Requirements:
  • Must adhere to safety regulations and professional standards, including OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal and state regulations.
  • As necessary, must be able to wear a respirator in compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with FAA regulations.
