Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced After School Care Coordinator to join our team at the Metuchen-Edison YMCA. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations and functions of the After School Care department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the health and safety of children in our care by adhering to strict guidelines and protocols.
  • Supervise and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the After School Care department, keeping the Director and Senior Director informed of operations and concerns.
  • Schedule staff and ensure adequate coverage to meet the needs of the department.
  • Train, coach, and provide leadership to staff to ensure they are equipped to provide high-quality care and services.
  • Act as a liaison between the Director, Senior Director, and department team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Implement and oversee department needs, including events, projects, and work processes.
  • Lead support to YMCA events and champion department engagement in events and functions.
  • Work closely with the Director and Senior Director to ensure that budgets are executed and maintained.
  • Ensure the department is in compliance with YMCA standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Conduct or present at staff meetings to keep team members informed and engaged.
  • Work closely with the Director and Senior Director as part of the Fund Raising Team.
  • Evaluate department needs regularly to ensure the department is operating effectively and efficiently.
  • Complete administrative functions in a timely and accurate manner, including staff paperwork, accident/incident reports, and staff meeting notes.
  • Perform daily department tasks and functions as assigned by the Director or Senior Director.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills, as well as relationship building skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Strong and proven background in the area of oversight, preferably in a related field.
  • Departments may have specific requirements, such as certifications or training.
Working Conditions
