Position Summary:
We are looking for motivated and dedicated Activity Coordinators for our After School Programs. In this role, you will be instrumental in cultivating a positive and engaging atmosphere for middle and elementary school students. Your responsibilities will include designing and leading activities that are both entertaining and educational, assisting students in developing skills across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Implement and uphold program policies, ensuring a safe and respectful environment in accordance with QCH's and partner organizations' standards.
  • Curriculum Design: Create age-appropriate lesson plans that are engaging and aligned with program objectives.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with after-school staff on thematic projects and take direction from senior program staff.
  • Communication: Maintain open communication with program directors and other stakeholders, including families and educators.
  • Student Assistance: Support students with homework, promoting academic achievement and personal growth.
  • Event Planning: Assist in organizing special events, activities, and projects that enhance the student experience.
  • Safety & Oversight: Ensure the safety of all participants, securing program spaces at the conclusion of each session.
  • Professional Growth: Attend staff meetings and complete required training and development hours.
  • Additional Duties: Carry out other tasks as assigned by supervisors to support program success.

Qualifications:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Educational Background: Enrollment in a relevant college program (Education, Human Development, Sociology, Human Services) with at least two years of coursework completed.
  • Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in leading activities for youth, preferably in after-school or camp environments.
  • Specialization: Proven expertise in the specific content area for which you are applying.
  • Skills: Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, and group management skills, particularly with youth. Knowledge of skill development and gender-based programming is advantageous.
  • Personal Attributes: Organized, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor. Ability to inspire and engage youth in leadership and skill-building activities.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in basic computer applications with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Clearance Requirements: Must pass necessary background checks and health assessments.

Employment Status: Part-Time
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
