Job Overview:

As the leading supplier of bakery equipment, we are expanding and need skilled teammates like you to help us continue this journey. AMF Bakery is seeking to hire an Electrical Systems Specialist to finalize the execution of the machinery checkout process. With support from Assembly and Engineering, the Specialist will complete machinery installations at client sites and assist Assembly teammates at our manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate should be self-driven, capable of working independently, yet also be an excellent team collaborator with strong communication skills. A customer-focused approach with an emphasis on quality workmanship is essential. Our Electrical Systems Specialists represent our company and play a vital role in our business's success. Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair components in the field and document any areas for improvement through reports.
  • Lead initiatives to provide feedback to relevant parties to reduce costs or enhance equipment functionality or ease of installation.
  • Guide teams in real-time problem-solving to meet shipment and installation timelines.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor while representing AMF both internally and externally.
  • Support local assembly by performing builds as necessary.
  • Oversee the electrical, mechanical, and controls checkout and quality assurance phases of machinery prior to shipment.
  • Supervise the installation of machinery on-site, including machinery erection, placement, connection, and on-site check-out and power-up.
  • Provide necessary Field Service support (non-installation).
  • Domestic and International Travel - up to 30%.
Qualifications:
  • 2-year Technical Degree and/or Electrical/Mechanical certification.
  • 5 years of Electrical Experience.
  • Ability to understand and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions (Engineering control drawings and/or schematics).
  • Comfortable using a variety of hand, electrical, and pneumatic tools, with the ability to select the most suitable ones.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills with multiple levels of both AMF and customer organizations.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to customer policies (Safety, health, or other policies).
  • A professional demeanor with the capability to fulfill the required role in a customer setting (leader, follower, or assistant).
  • Must possess basic tools. The list of teammate-provided tools includes but is not limited to box/open end/socket wrench sets, Allen wrench sets, screwdriver set, tap handles, pliers, combination square, 9" level, and tape measure. English and metric tool sets/lockable toolboxes are recommended.
  • 30% Travel to complete on-site installations.
Preferred Skills:
  • Field service experience.
  • A solid electrical aptitude with demonstrated knowledge of NEC code and wiring techniques.
  • Familiarity with various types of variable speed drives, sensors, conveyors, PLC, and human interfaces (including Rockwell and AB).
  • Basic machine shop and fabrication skills (including cutting and drilling of various materials, dismantling, repair, and re-assembly).
  • PLC programming capabilities: Ability to understand existing programs, make necessary changes, and troubleshoot in real-time.
  • Understanding of power transmission components (bearings, motors, reducers, belts, pulleys), pneumatics (air cylinders, valves), hydraulics, and electrical circuits and their interconnections.
Working Conditions:
  • Teammates must be able to stand on concrete floors for a minimum of eight hours. Kneeling, squatting, bending over, and standing for extended periods may be required to perform assigned tasks.
  • Conditions at customer locations will vary.
  • Indoors (95%) and outdoors (5%).
