Position Overview: Marketing and Events Coordinator

Silicon Couloir is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship within the Tetons, aiming to cultivate a thriving and dynamic community. We are in search of a meticulous, proactive, and passionate individual to join our team. This role will involve providing essential support in program management, event coordination, marketing initiatives, and administrative tasks.

The Marketing and Events Coordinator (MEC) will report directly to the Director of Entrepreneurship and the Ecosystem Director. The MEC's responsibilities are categorized into three main areas: (1) TEAMS program support, (2) event coordination, and (3) marketing assistance.

  1. TEAMS Program Support: The MEC will oversee the daily operations of the TEAMS (Teton Entrepreneurs And Mentor Services) program, which is affiliated with MIT's Venture Mentor Services. This role will include assisting in strategic planning and ensuring the TEAMS program aligns with other initiatives and events. Approximately 50% of the role will focus on TEAMS-related duties.
  2. Event Coordination: The MEC will collaborate with the Ecosystem Director on the strategy, planning, and execution of various events, including annual Pitch Day, monthly Chance Meetings, and other key gatherings. This aspect of the role will account for around 25% of the responsibilities.
  3. Marketing Assistance: The MEC will support the Ecosystem Director in all marketing efforts, including social media management, website updates, newsletter content creation, and promotional activities for programs and events. This will also represent about 25% of the position's duties.

This is a full-time, exempt position that requires a blend of in-person and remote work, with some evening hours as necessary. A collaborative spirit and adaptability in scheduling are essential for success in this role. The MEC will have the flexibility to work from home when not engaged in events or meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. TEAMS Program Management:

The MEC will manage all aspects of the TEAMS program, including:

  • Responding to inquiries from mentors and ventures
  • Efficiently scheduling mentor meetings
  • Reviewing applications and coordinating interviews
  • Leading monthly committee meetings
  • Conducting exit interviews for program graduates
  • Building and adjusting mentor teams as necessary
  • Maintaining the centralized platform for scheduling and notes
  • Regularly checking in with active participants to ensure compliance with program standards
  • Coordinating monthly communications, including newsletters
  1. Event Coordination:

Assisting with Pitch Day by:

  • Managing applications and communicating with applicants
  • Coordinating selection committee meetings
  • Communicating with finalists
  • Facilitating coaching sessions and follow-ups
  • Collecting and organizing final presentations
  • Providing day-of event support

Supporting other events by:

  • Participating in planning sessions
  • Coordinating event logistics
  • Communicating with speakers and panelists
  • Managing registrations
  • Assisting with event setup and execution
  1. Marketing Support:
  • Managing social media channels with original content
  • Updating the website as needed
  • Assisting in the creation of newsletters
  • Contributing to the design and content of annual reports
  • Tracking and analyzing marketing effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and ethical standards
  • Effective time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and Google Workspace
  • Willingness to attend in-person meetings as required

Compensation:

  • Salary range: $65K - $75K, commensurate with experience
