Job Title: Analytic Research Engineer

Job Summary:

TAP Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Analytic Research Engineer to support various technical projects. The ideal candidate will provide research engineering, technical, and managerial direction for problem definition, analysis, requirement development, and implementation for complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, conduct, and evaluate new approaches to meet technical requirements more quickly and efficiently.
  • Make recommendations and advise on research development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.
  • Perform risk assessments and innovative use of new research concepts or improved techniques and procedures.
  • Develop and deploy applications on Linux or Unix platforms.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized software, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques for computer vision and natural language processing.
  • Knowledge of common software development tools and big data and analytic platforms.

Requirements:

  • Active TS/SCI w/ full scope polygraph.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (or related technical field).
  • 5+ years of experience developing software in Python and Java, with various software libraries.
  • Ability to develop and deploy applications on Linux or Unix platforms.
  • Experience developing and deploying containerized software.
  • Understanding of machine learning techniques.
  • Knowledge of common software development tools and big data and analytic platforms.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience developing software in multiple languages, including C/C++ or Go.
  • Understanding of accelerated software with Nvidia hardware and software libraries.
  • Knowledge of shell scripts using Bash and common tools.

Clearance Requirement:

This position requires the ability to maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of a full scope polygraph.

Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government. Factors considered for a U.S. Government Security Clearance include, but are not limited to:

  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Favorable Criminal History Check.
  • Education Verification.
  • Abuse/Illegal Drug Use.
  • Credit Check.
  • Subject Interview.
