Data Scientist Intern

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Scientist Intern to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a Data Scientist Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that involve developing data collection, processing, and analysis efforts to assess the performance of complex systems.
Key Responsibilities- Work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop data-driven solutions to complex problems
- Develop and implement data models and simulations to describe data, predict events, and prescribe a course of action
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with Python and/or R programming languages
- Experience with data quality pipelines, data science applications, and dashboard tools
- Ability to obtain Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a final Secret level security clearance
- Minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with statistical analysis methodologies and design of experiments
- Experience with SQL and Data Science frameworks such as Tensorflow, Sci-kit learn, Numpy, PyTorch, Matplotlib, or more
