- Develop business plans and sales strategies for each market segment to ensure attainment of Company goals for growth and profitability.
- Responsible for new customer business development within defined markets and market segments.
- Participate in M&A activity aligned with corporate strategy.
- Develop and implement marketing plans as needed.
- Work with and assist the sales team by defining appropriate systems for identifying and qualifying marketing leads, and for managing an effective hand-off of qualified leads from strategic business development to sales and business unit teams.
- Assist business unit/design teams by producing document templates for quotes and proposals, and providing training to the teams on how to use them.
- Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales methods, costs, and results.
- Directly manage and coordinate activities related to critically developing strategic customer accounts.
- Assist business unit/design teams to provide timely, accurate and competitive pricing on all completed quotes and proposals, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
- Create and deliver proposal presentations and RFP responses as required.
- Directly lead critical portions of business development proposals and presentations, and assist business unit/design teams in preparation of proposals and presentations as needed.
- Ensure that business unit/design teams and/or sales associates meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and quotes.
- Delegate authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-up.
- Maintain contact with all new customers within each market segment to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Regularly establish marketing and business development strategies and successful execution of those strategies.
- Develop and implement business development strategies to drive growth and profitability.
- Lead new customer business development within defined markets and market segments.

- 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Effectively mentor employees at all levels, including business unit teams.
- Understand and use continuous improvement tools.
- Drive solutions to complex planning issues with limited supervision.
- Effective analytical, strategic planning and organizational skills.
- Proven negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrate teamwork and the ability to motivate diverse project teams with minimal direction within tight timeframes during multi-project initiatives.
- Solid financial understanding, risk analysis ability, relationship-building, and project management.
- Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.
- Excellent communication skills (writing, speaking, listening, presenting), as well as interpersonal skills.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
