Job Summary

The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving sales growth through strategic networking and sales activities outside of the office. This includes prospecting, cold calling, relationship building, solution selling, proposal creation, negotiation, and closing new business in the Arizona market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate industry trends and implement proactive strategies to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Identify and develop sales strategies to secure new business, including sales calls, cold calls, competitive analysis, and proposal creation.
  • Assist with research and development of strategies and plans for identifying marketing opportunities, direct marketing, and new project developments.
  • Travel to call on regular and prospective customers to build relationships and drive sales growth.
  • Conduct presentations at events and industry trade association meetings to demonstrate products and services.
  • Work closely with executives to plan, conduct, and follow up on sales calls, maintaining a close working relationship with the corporate office to drive activity and results.
  • Maintain contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and work closely with Operations to develop customer service standards, feedback methods, and escalation procedures.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Ability to demonstrate significant attention to detail and understanding of contracts, pricing, and implementation strategies.
  • Strong project and performance management, analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience, skills, and desire to contribute to and drive business strategy.
  • Relationship management; ability to establish and maintain credibility with business constituents at all levels.

Education and Experience

Education: Four-year degree or related field or equivalent work experience in a similar environment.

Experience: 4+ years of proven sales success.
