Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Order Taker/Runner to join our team at H-E-B Restaurant. As an Order Taker/Runner, you'll play a key role in providing positive and memorable service to our guests while taking orders, preparing drinks, delivering food, and maintaining cleanliness of the dining area and patio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Build strong relationships with customers in varying situations, take orders from customers, assist with menu and beverage selections, and provide detailed information on menu items and specials.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serve food, drink, and products to guests, process cash, check, debit, and credit transactions accurately and quickly, and use suggestive selling techniques to meet guest needs and build department sales.
  • Compliance and Food Safety: Ensure compliance with TABC regulations, maintain sanitation in food and beverage prep areas and display cases, and properly handle, operate, and maintain equipment.
Requirements
  • Minimum Requirements: Minimum age 18, 1+ years of experience in customer service, and completion of Alcohol Seller Training/Cash Handling training upon hire.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems and advanced customer service and communication skills.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to function in a fast-paced, retail environment, work extended hours and/or rotating schedules, and safely maneuver around moving mechanical parts. You'll be frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic materials, and occasionally exposed to heat, ambient temperatures, and loud noise.
