Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Coordinator Oncology to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. This role will be responsible for coordinating activities with the Attending Physician and providing direct and indirect care to patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in communications with patients, triage patients and patient issues, and provide symptom management and patient education regarding their disease process and treatment.
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to support innovative and cost-effective changes to practice and the healthcare system.
  • Provide extensive patient education regarding disease process, treatment plan, and symptom management.
  • Assist patients and families through the disease process and cancer diagnosis continuum.
  • Triages phone calls and patient portal inquiries and provides consultations and follow-up as needed.
  • Reports the status of progress and recommends/implements appropriate measures for Performance Improvement (PI).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
  • 1-2 years relevant clinical experience required; 1-2 years ambulatory Care and Oncology experience preferred.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.

This position has a hiring range of $87,094.40 - $149,094.40.
