Pediatric Clinical Nurse Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in coordinating and overseeing the care of pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer and hematological disorders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage the care of pediatric oncology patients from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and education to pediatric patients and their families about the diagnosis, treatment options, and potential side effects.
  • Facilitate communication among healthcare providers to ensure seamless and integrated care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all aspects of care and communication.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited academic nursing program required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
  • Pediatric Nursing Certification (CPN) or Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) is desirable.
