Job Summary:
As a Mobile Technician II, you will be tasked with conducting intermediate service and repairs on J.B. Hunt's tractors, trailers, chassis, containers, or power equipment.

This role involves working outside of the shop, providing service at customer locations or rail yards utilizing our mobile service truck.


Job Description:

Key Responsibilities :
- Execute intermediate-level preventive maintenance and repairs, including tire changes, brake servicing, electrical diagnostics, and basic structural repairs on tractor or trailer equipment.
- Diagnose and repair ABS systems.
- Efficiently operate the mobile service truck and manage truck inventory.
- Support the onboarding and mentorship of new tractor technician trainees.
- Adhere to all safety protocols while on-site and at customer locations.
- Complete work orders and other documentation accurately according to established procedures.
- Document any damage to company equipment to estimate repair costs.
- Demonstrate proficient use of cutting torches and welding equipment for mid-level repairs on chassis, frames, and other equipment.
- Repair holes in trailer or container side panels and roofs.
- Conduct annual AA trailer and FHWA brake inspections under direct supervision.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications :
- Must be at least 18 years of age for equipment up to 10,000 lbs or 21 years for equipment over 10,000 lbs, with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
- Demonstrated skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences.
- Possess a clean motor vehicle record per J.B. Hunt guidelines.
- Ability to provide your own basic tools or purchase through our toolbox purchase program.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work across multiple shifts, including nights and/or weekends, if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of experience in semi-tractor or semi-trailer maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or military equivalent.
- DOT certification in FHWA inspections and air brakes, with 1 year of experience conducting inspections.
- Welding certification.
- Forklift certification and experience.
- EPA section 608 certification and refrigeration license.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interpret ideas effectively through various mediums.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to use time and resources effectively.
- Ability to meet physical requirements (lift/move appliances up to 50 pounds).
- Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE).

Compensation:

Starting pay may be influenced by skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position may be eligible for annual bonuses and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
