Job Summary:

As a Senior Tractor Technician at J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our fleet. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform complex maintenance, service, and repair of J.B. Hunt tractors and other equipment, including troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems, working independently with minimal direction.
  • Onboard and mentor new Tractor Technician trainees, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Participate in Original Equipment Manufacturing training for OE repairs, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
  • Maintain professional communication with JB Hunt personnel and customers at all times, providing excellent customer service and support.
  • Accurately complete work orders and meet or exceed requirements for standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Semi-Tractor maintenance and repair, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A/C Certification, DOT-certified in FHWA Inspections and Air Brakes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements, including lifting and moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
