Position Title: Mechanical Service Technician

Reports To: Service Manager

Role Summary:

The Mechanical Service Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of mechanical components and systems. This position involves disassembling, repairing, and reassembling various mechanical parts using an array of tools and equipment, adhering to the specific requirements of our operational standards. Please note, this is a traveling role.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Fundamental mechanical skills
  • Basic proficiency in English reading to follow instructions and specifications
  • Ability to interpret equipment specifications, including hydraulic and electrical diagrams
  • Some technical or vocational training is advantageous but not mandatory

Primary Responsibilities:

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

  • Prepares for tasks by reviewing assembly and repair guidelines, schematic specifications, and parts lists. Collects necessary parts, tools, and materials.
  • Positions components accurately using templates or measurements.
  • Assembles parts by ensuring proper connections and fit.
  • Confirms specifications by measuring completed components.
  • Meets customer deadlines for task completion.

Troubleshooting:

  • Diagnoses mechanical issues through systematic troubleshooting and repairs according to established specifications. Engages additional resources as necessary.
  • Identifies defective components during repairs and verifies functionality before proceeding.

Preventive Maintenance & Safety:

  • Ensures equipment functionality by completing preventive maintenance tasks, adhering to manufacturer guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and requesting repairs when necessary.
  • Maintains a safe and organized work environment by following established procedures and regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conserves resources by utilizing equipment and supplies efficiently to achieve job results while minimizing waste.
  • Documents actions by completing necessary production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team objectives by assisting in achieving production goals as required.
