Position Summary:
The Automotive Service Specialist is tasked with diagnosing, repairing, and conducting preventive maintenance on various vehicles. This role demands a high degree of technical knowledge, especially with brands such as Toyota, Ford, and Honda.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnostics and Repairs
    • Conduct comprehensive vehicle assessments and accurately identify mechanical and electrical problems.
    • Perform repair and maintenance tasks on vehicles, including engine, transmission, brake, and air conditioning systems.
    • Utilize diagnostic instruments and software to assist in troubleshooting.
  2. Preventive Maintenance
    • Carry out routine maintenance activities such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid inspections.
    • Ensure vehicles comply with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
  3. Documentation and Communication
    • Keep precise records of all services and repairs conducted.
    • Effectively communicate with service advisors and clients regarding vehicle concerns and repair timelines.
    • Provide detailed estimates for repair costs and expected completion times.
  4. Tool and Equipment Management
    • Maintain personal and workshop tools and equipment in optimal condition.
    • Ensure the workspace is tidy and organized.
  5. Training and Certification
    • Stay informed about the latest automotive technologies and repair methodologies.
    • Participate in training sessions as necessary to enhance and maintain technical skills.
    • Keep certifications current, including ASE, ABC, and manufacturer-specific credentials (Toyota, Ford, Honda).

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician is preferred.
    • Experience with Toyota, Ford, and Honda vehicles is highly advantageous.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Completion of an accredited automotive technology program is preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
    • Proficiency with automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity and physical endurance.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to automotive fumes and noise.
  • Must adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
