Job Summary

The Helena Motors Group is seeking a skilled Automotive Repair Specialist to join our team. As an Automotive Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of vehicle systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential safety concerns or future maintenance needs.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, and suspension systems.
  • Service and Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks.
  • Diagnostic Tools and Software: Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours, in accordance with company and manufacturer standards.
  • Quality Control: Test drive vehicles before and after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved and the vehicle is operating safely.
  • Communication: Communicate with the Service Advisor to provide detailed explanations of repairs needed, estimated costs, and timelines.
  • Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques through ongoing training and certification programs.
  • Work Environment: Follow all safety protocols and ensure a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited automotive technology program is preferred.
  • Certification: ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, with experience in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems preferred.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, proficiency with diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and repair software, ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair guides.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, ability to stand, walk, and work in various positions for extended periods, comfortable working in a shop environment with exposure to various weather conditions and automotive fluids.
