About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to lead our tax practice division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management to our clients and staff in the areas of federal and state taxation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to our clients and staff in the areas of federal and state taxation.
  • Preparation and/or review of moderate and complex business and personal income tax returns, including multi-state and client tax planning using Ultra Tax software.
  • Preparation and/or review of trust, estate, and gift tax returns.
  • Provide leadership in areas of tax research and development and training of staff members.
  • Serve as a relationship manager for select clients of the firm.
  • Participate in business development efforts (with potential for future equity participation).
  • Review and/or maintain financial accounting records for client companies. This may include, but is not limited to preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, accounting for fixed assets and depreciation, and preparing work papers.
  • Occasional review of payroll and sales tax filings.
  • Participate in consulting, special projects, and additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Ensure adherence to Company philosophy and policy of delivering quality and professional tax and accounting services and dealing honestly and fairly with clients and company personnel.
Requirements
  • 4-5 years of accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting, a master's degree in taxation is a plus
  • CPA or EA designation in active status is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in federal and multi-state income taxation
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of federal and multi-state tax laws and standard accounting procedures.
  • Entrepreneurial-minded and have strong communication and leadership skills as well as a willingness and desire to help others.
