Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Careers and Student Pathways Advisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a critical management and support function using a student-centred approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement careers curriculum for students from years 7 to 12.
  • Provide subject selection and course counselling to students.
  • Organise and participate in various career events, including the World of Work Program, TIS, Expos, Tasters, and Visiting Speakers.
  • Provide expertise and advice to students on career options, courses, pathways, and vocations.
  • Lead and monitor students involved in work experience and structured workplace learning programs.
  • Support year 10, 11, and 12 VET/SBAT and SWL programs.
  • Deliver VTAC classroom application sessions.
  • Establish a comprehensive transition program for post-compulsory pathways.
  • Participate in student career development and engagement programs, including CAPs, Course Selection, VTAC, SEAS, Scholarships, and Strategic Partnership Access and Pathways programs.
  • Provide advice and support to the school community on careers, career pathways, and educational pathways.
  • Provide professional counselling services to students and record all interviews in an electronic database.
  • Establish and maintain a Pathways and Careers Centre within the school.
  • Coordinate the distribution of careers literature through the school.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, employers, community groups, RTOs, and Headstart liaison.
Requirements
  • Individuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with parents, wellbeing, administration, leadership teams, and external organisations to support students with transitions to further education, training, or employment.
  • Strong relationships with commercial partners, community organisations, and the employment sector to the benefit of students.
