Flight Training Student Advisor

Melbourne Flight Training is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Flight Training Student Advisor to support students throughout their flight training journey. As a key member of our team, you will provide guidance and resources to students, ensuring they have the best possible chance of success in their training and career goals.
Key Responsibilities- Enrollment and Admissions Support
- Assist with student enrollment, reviewing applications and conducting interviews to advise prospective students on program requirements.
- Coordinate and participate in orientation sessions to introduce new students to flight school policies and procedures.
- Provide information and guidance on financial aid options and scholarship opportunities.
- Participate in student recruitment activities to promote our flight training programs.
- Student Flight Training Advising
- Provide advising sessions to assist students with academic challenges and career advancement opportunities.
- Monitor student progress and performance, providing interventions and support as needed.
- Coordinate with instructors to address academic issues and provide additional resources for student success.
- Maintain and update student records, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and school policies.
- Student Retention and Success Initiatives
- Manage student resources and work with administrative staff to support student needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student retention and success rates.
- Monitor at-risk students and provide targeted support to help them stay on track with their training.
- Coordinate with faculty and staff to identify and address any barriers to student success.
- Student Career Advancement Support
- Guide students in preparing resumes, cover letters, and interview techniques.
- Facilitate connections with industry professionals and organizations for networking and job opportunity pipelines with airlines.
- Work with the marketing coordinator to develop career placement events.
- Student Housing Management
- Coordinate housing arrangements for incoming students.
- Act as the point of contact for housing-related inquiries, resolving facility issues for students.
- Manage relationships with housing vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with housing agreements.
- Organize and conduct housing inspections to ensure safety and maintenance standards are upheld.
- Previous experience in academic advising, career counseling, preferably within an educational or aviation setting.
- Understanding of the aviation industry and the requirements for various aviation careers.
- Familiarity with academic policies and procedures related to flight training programs.
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
