Security Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Protective Services: Provide protective services to people and property, responding to routine and emergency calls for service.
- Shift Assignment: Staff 8-hour shifts at designated times, including Fridays from 10:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
- Operational Functions: Perform daily operational functions as directed, including responding to emergency requests, documenting incidents, and completing electronic incident reports.
- Customer Service: Utilize strong customer service skills and community policing philosophies to develop and build strong relationships with the hospital community.
- Investigations: Conduct initial investigations into reports of suspicious activity, persons, hazards, or risk, and take necessary steps to mitigate risk.
- De-Escalation Techniques: Use effective and appropriate de-escalation techniques when addressing disorderly, disruptive, or emotionally charged persons.
- Access Control: Perform access control functions, including ensuring authorized access to parking areas and enforcing visitor policies and restrictions.
- Dispatch and Console Duties: Perform dispatch and console duties as assigned, including coordinating security activities, acting as liaison to other departments, and prioritizing and assigning responses to incidents.
- Education: Minimum of a high school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
- Certifications: Must possess and maintain required certifications, including CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, and IAHSS Basic Officer Certification.
