We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Protective Services: Provide protective services to people and property, responding to routine and emergency calls for service.
- Shift Assignment: Work a 24-hour shift schedule, including Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays, with varying start and end times.
- Operational Functions: Perform daily operational functions as directed, including responding to emergency requests, documenting incidents, and completing electronic incident reports.
- Customer Service: Utilize strong customer service skills to develop and build relationships with the hospital community, providing escorts and responding to non-emergency calls.
- Investigations: Conduct initial investigations into reports of suspicious activity, persons, hazards, or risk, and take necessary steps to mitigate risk.
- Access Control: Perform access control functions, including ensuring authorized access to parking areas and enforcing visitor policies.
- Dispatch and Console Duties: Coordinate Security activities, act as liaison to other departments and external agencies, and prioritize and assign responses to incidents and requests for assistance.
- Education: High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
- Certifications: Must possess and maintain required certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, and IAHSS Basic Officer Certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer service skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in teams.
