We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, with rotating shifts including Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays.
Key Responsibilities- Security Operations: Respond to emergency calls, patrol hospital grounds, and ensure the security of our facilities.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff, and maintain a positive and professional image of the security department.
- Incident Reporting: Document all incidents, including accidents, injuries, and security breaches, and submit reports to the security supervisor.
- Access Control: Monitor and control access to hospital facilities, including parking areas, and ensure that only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas.
- Dispatch and Console Duties: Answer phone calls, respond to emergency situations, and coordinate security activities with other hospital departments.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
- Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts driver's license and obtain required certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid, CPI De-Escalation Training, and International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Officer Certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, customer service skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
This is a part-time position working 24 hours per week, with rotating shifts including Sundays, Mondays, and Fridays. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations as needed.
