Job Summary

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented individual to assist in our accounting and administrative tasks. As a Bookkeeper/Secretary, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and providing support to our accountants.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions by posting and verifying entries
  • Develop and implement systems for tracking financial transactions, including establishing a chart of accounts
  • Reconcile entries to ensure subsidiary accounts are balanced
  • Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, check preparation, and resolving discrepancies
  • Investigate, report, and resolve any discrepancies in financial records or accounts
  • Prepare trial balance and provide support for accountants
  • Assist with tax filings and organize supporting documents
  • Maintain accurate files related to various business entities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements
  • Perform general secretarial and clerical tasks
Requirements
  • Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline or experience equivalent with basic accounting knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and understanding of industry benchmarks and best practices (GAAP)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Competency with QuickBooks Cloud, MS Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
  • Demonstrates initiative and a commitment to excellence
  • Dedication in the completion of tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent people skills with great eye contact
  • Effective organization skills and attention to detail
  • Congenial and friendly demeanor with exemplary people skills
  • Excellent communication skills with a clear and pleasant voice using proper English
