Position Summary:
Under the guidance of the General Manager, the Construction Manager is accountable for overseeing all operational aspects during shifts, ensuring production efficiency, maintaining equipment, and adhering to regulatory standards. This role also involves supervising the facility and staff to guarantee compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive operational documentation, including reports and licenses.
- Drive production staff performance by setting clear expectations, monitoring outcomes, and providing coaching and support.
- Recruit, orient, and train new employees while fostering opportunities for their professional development.
- Ensure smooth workflow by monitoring processes, adjusting variables, and facilitating cooperation across departments.
- Achieve production goals by effectively scheduling personnel and prioritizing tasks.
- Uphold quality standards by enforcing organizational policies.
- Ensure equipment functionality by coordinating repairs and evaluating new technologies.
- Compile and analyze production performance data to provide insights and address inquiries.
- Revise operational systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Promote a safe and organized work environment through education and adherence to established protocols.
- Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data and recommending solutions.
- Enhance professional knowledge by participating in workshops and reviewing industry publications.
- Contribute to team objectives by achieving related outcomes.
Qualifications:
Basic Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- 8+ years of supervisory experience.
- 2+ years of mechanical experience, including welding and general maintenance.
- 5+ years of experience operating construction equipment such as excavators and wheel loaders.
- Experience in materials processing and asphalt/concrete plants.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor when interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Proficient in using computers for communication and information management.
- Experience in labor relations or union management.
