Role Responsibilities:

  • The Performance Support Engineer will tackle complex challenges within the ServiceNow Technical Support team, concentrating on performance optimization and system availability. This role serves as the final escalation point within the technical support framework and involves mentoring junior team members across various technologies.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues.
  • Extensive experience with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle.
  • Proficiency in Java programming.
  • Familiarity with one or more scripting languages, including JavaScript, Python, Perl, Unix Shell, or Windows Shell.
  • Advanced knowledge of Unix/Linux systems.
  • Understanding of web application architecture components.
  • Experience in identifying performance issues and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting while also working independently.
  • Strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey solutions for complex technical challenges.
  • Experience engaging with high-value customer administrators and developers.
  • Excellent time management capabilities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Basic understanding of networking and system administration principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in writing or debugging Object-Oriented code, preferably in Java.
  • Familiarity with dynamic HTML components such as AJAX, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Advanced skills in object-oriented programming, particularly in Java.
  • Deep knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Proficiency in web services, data extraction technologies, and automated system integrations.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk.
  • Knowledge of Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
  • Familiarity with remote administration techniques.
  • Experience with technologies relevant to the ServiceNow ecosystem.
  • Strong familiarity with Eclipse IDE.
  • Basic understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) principles.
