POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Vendor Oversight team plays a crucial role in managing Third Party Risk for BBVA US CIB. The primary aim is to ensure that risks associated with third parties across the organization are effectively identified, evaluated, documented, and integrated into management processes as necessary. This team also supports compliance with regulatory standards, including OCC Bulletin Interagency Guidance.

This role will contribute to the execution of policies and programs while ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory directives, internal guidelines, and established procedures. The individual will oversee a portfolio of high-risk vendor relationships, particularly within the Corporate Investment Banking sector.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Line of Business or Service Requestor in the Third Party onboarding process, which includes:

  • Facilitating vendor registration and approval.
  • Coordinating the compilation and submission of vendor due diligence documents, including InfoSec, Compliance, BCP documentation, exit strategies, and other relevant materials.
  • Managing documentation submissions such as SOW, MNDA, and MSA.
  • Overseeing the procurement process, including contract negotiations, budget considerations, historical spending, and contract execution.

Assist in the continuous monitoring of third-party engagements by:

  • Coordinating vendor monitoring meetings.
  • Facilitating meetings for issue escalation as needed.

Manage the closeout activities related to third-party terminations and natural expirations, including notifications, transitions between vendors, or in-house service implementations.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in third-party management.
  • Intermediate proficiency in PowerPoint; advanced skills in Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of vendor risk management, including tracking vendor risk activities and contract specifics such as SLAs and risk-related clauses.
  • Strong motivation coupled with excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with internal service owners, senior management, and third-party vendors.
  • A minimum of 7 years in enterprise risk management or vendor risk monitoring.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with vendor and internal user teams.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with Aravo or similar Third Party Vendor Risk Systems.
  • Experience with Workday or other procurement systems.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
  • Background in Corporate Investment Banking is a plus.
