Overview of the Lead Building Automation Technician Role

In the capacity of a Lead Building Automation Technician, your primary responsibility will be the comprehensive execution of building automation initiatives. This role entails overseeing small-scale retrofit and enhancement projects, while also acting as the project superintendent and manager for larger, designed projects valued up to $500,000. For projects exceeding this budget, you may collaborate with a dedicated Project Manager to ensure seamless execution. The expertise required for this position encompasses system design, component selection, installation, programming, commissioning, and operational verification Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • A minimum of 5 years of in-depth knowledge of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, including their various components and operational processes.
  • Over 5 years of solid understanding of diverse design principles.
  • At least 5 years of proficient grasp of fundamental physical principles.
  • 5+ years of experience with computers, electronics, and electrical circuits, and their interrelations.
  • 5+ years of familiarity with engineering and technology, including principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment.
  • 5+ years of experience in documentation and recording processes.
  • 5+ years of knowledge regarding building materials, tools, and construction processes.
  • 5+ years of customer service experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and authoring programming logic.
  • Tridium N4 Certification is required or the ability to obtain it within one year.
  • An Associate's degree is preferred, or equivalent experience is acceptable.
