Campus Safety Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Safety Officer to join our team at Iona University. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our campus community, including students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Security and Safety: Provide a safe and secure environment for all members of the Iona University community, including enforcing New York State laws and university policies.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to all calls for service, investigate incidents, and notify supervisors or directors as necessary.
- Access Control: Conduct random patrols of assigned posts, maintain a high level of visibility, and ensure proper access control.
- Vehicle Management: Ensure that all security vehicles are kept in safe and good mechanical condition, and operate a twelve-passenger van as part of the Iona University Shuttle Service.
- Uniform and Equipment Maintenance: Properly care for and maintain all uniforms and equipment assigned to you.
- Community Engagement: Provide safety information to members of the Iona University community as required.
- Security Guard Certification: Possess a valid New York State Security Guard Certification and have completed the 16 Hour In-Service Security Training Course.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Communication Skills: Possess good communication and human relation skills.
- Driving Record: Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Weather Conditions: Able to work in various weather conditions and tours of assignment.
