Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automotive Supervisor to join our team at North Carolina Jobs. As a key member of our Transportation Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of school buses and other automotive equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and evaluate the work of assigned mechanics, ensuring high-quality repairs and maintenance.
  • Diagnose and repair complex malfunctions in school buses, other vehicles, and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of internal combustion engines, repair methods, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to supervise and instruct employees, plan work details, and exercise independent judgment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring a 12-month commitment. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical equipment and potential hazards.
