Position Overview:
Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas is in search of a Project Lead Engineer. This role is pivotal in overseeing the comprehensive engineering responsibilities throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and oversee all engineering functions, both internally and externally, during the proposal, design, and implementation phases of Power Quality Solutions (FACTS).
  • Support proposal initiatives by introducing innovative concepts, cost-saving strategies, and enhanced solutions to the overall system design.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison with all project stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and local teams.
  • Ensure that all operations are executed efficiently and in accordance with contract specifications, quality benchmarks, and safety protocols.
  • Lead the project engineering team to successfully deliver projects while adhering to timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations.
  • Evaluate and select sub-suppliers based on project needs and engage in activities aimed at continuous process enhancement.
  • Embody Hitachi's core values of safety and integrity, taking accountability for personal actions while supporting colleagues and the organization.

Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. Candidates must have the necessary work authorization to be employed in the United States. A Professional Engineering License or the ability to obtain one is required, along with a comprehensive understanding of:
  • National Electric Code and ANSI/IEEE standards
  • FACTS solutions (including STATCOM, SVC, and Series Capacitor)
  • Experience in Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) projects
Willingness to travel approximately 20% for both domestic and international assignments is expected. Any project management certification is preferred.
