Position Summary:
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within the LAL Engineering team, you will report directly to the Senior Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to devise innovative solutions that enhance and expand the manufacturing capabilities of the RxSight Light Adjustable Lens (LAL). You will collaborate closely with manufacturing and regulatory teams to implement strategic and effective enhancements to the production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive improvements in the performance and quality of RxSight products, focusing on the Light Adjustable Lens.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the LAL manufacturing line, providing technical guidance to operators and peers while leading investigations and improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment throughout all project phases.
- Develop and deliver creative solutions aimed at increasing manufacturing throughput and yield.
- Analyze and communicate results effectively to all stakeholders, collaborating with various departments to determine next steps.
- Design and prototype fixtures, tools, and equipment using CAD software as necessary.
- Understand and apply principles of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), and machining/molding techniques.
- Optimize workflows for LAL technicians by developing and implementing efficient processes.
- Monitor the manufacturing process holistically to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, driving continuous improvement based on these insights.
- Maintain a strong sense of accountability by adhering to timelines and project goals.
- Author and manage technical documentation through RxSight's quality management system.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the medical device sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills with a creative approach to challenges.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 11979 and ISO 13485, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in SolidWorks and PDM software.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with effective problem-solving capabilities.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $110,000 to $125,000 per year.
