Job Summary

RxSight, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Materials Scientist to lead the development of silicone-based formulations for adjustable lens technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for advancing understanding and characterization techniques of silicone raw materials, as well as synthesizing new materials for the next generation of the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL).

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, development, and extensive characterization of silicone-based polymer resins
  • Optimization of silicone material selection process to enhance the scale and quality of the LAL
  • Analysis of silicone raw materials, intermediate formulation mixes, and final formulations using conventional soft materials characterization techniques
  • Synthesis of silicone-based and silicone-containing monomers and polymers utilizing various polymerization techniques
Requirements
  • Strong background in polymer chemistry/organic materials science
  • In-depth knowledge of polymeric materials characterization techniques
  • Proficiency in polymer microscopy and corresponding sample preparation
  • Experience with formulation development and optimization
  • General familiarity with molecular simulation tools and polymer analytics
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Master's degree in Materials Science, Polymer Chemistry, or Polymer Engineering
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience and/or training
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range: $120,000 to $130,000 per year
