Role Summary:

The Client Support Specialist is a client-centered, phone-based role responsible for assisting residents of San Diego County, service providers, and agencies with inquiries related to the County ACCESS General Information line and Family Resource Center programs. This includes providing information on primary County benefit programs such as CALFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWorks. Responsibilities include explaining eligibility criteria, processing application requests, rescheduling appointments for benefit continuation, and updating existing case information.

Qualifications:

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • An Associate's Degree or higher is preferred; a combination of further education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a call center environment is highly desirable.
  • Background in public health, social work, human development, psychology, sociology/criminology, or social sciences is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency in web-based systems, real-time communication platforms (e.g., chat), MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; skills assessment may be required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
