Industrial Electrical Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Electrical Specialist to join our team at Wells Concrete. As an Industrial Electrical Specialist, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and electronic systems, wiring, fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine the existence of electrical hazards and problems, safely isolating, grounding, and preparing circuits and electrical apparatus for repairs.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus.
- Install electrical conduit, pull, and terminate wiring.
- Use electrical/electronic testing equipment to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Install and maintain drive systems, such as variable frequency drives, eddy current, and DC drives.
- Interpret and/or modify PLC control logic, as necessary.
- Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
- Design layout work on panels, set up complex control systems, interpret and alter engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Repair or replace faulty electrical equipment, including electronic controls, meters, outlets, and panels.
- Effectively communicate problems and solutions to resolve electrical problems.
- Supervise and participate in the on-the-job training of Utility Maintenance Person as needed.
Requirements
- Graduation from high school, or general education diploma or trade school preferred.
- Five (5) years of experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment with related training.
- Electrician Apprentice License preferred, but not required.
- Considerable knowledge of electrical systems, including high-voltage switchgear, protective relaying, grounding procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, safety procedures, and electrical test equipment.
- Good knowledge of electrical codes and regulations.
- Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
- Ability to use engineering drawings, schematics, and service manuals to troubleshoot, install, and repair equipment.
- Ability to perform arithmetical and algebraic calculations.
- Ability to maintain records and report on work accomplished.
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and tools used in general maintenance work.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions, good verbal, and written communications skills.
- Ability to perform strenuous manual work under varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work unscheduled hours during emergency and/or unusual situations (24 hour/ 7 days' week).
