Role Overview

The Product Data Specialist is a vital member of the marketing team based in Hillsboro, NH (remote work is possible within a few hours of our headquarters). This team oversees all marketing functions, including advertising, communications, product launches, product data management, retailer-specific in-store displays, omni-channel excellence, research, and trade exhibitions.

The Product Data Specialist will report to the Catalog Data/Digital Marketing Manager and will be tasked with ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our product data for use on our websites and point-of-sale systems. This position is essential for building a robust foundation to enhance and expand our digital business, ultimately leading to a positive customer experience.

This role demands meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of data architecture, project management, and product management systems, along with the establishment of best practices within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Application & Product Information Management
  • Lead initiatives to implement a global Product Information Management (PIM) platform (Stibo) and user interface focused on data quality, governance, automated data normalization, and best practices to support scalable operations in line with our evolving business needs.
  • Collect, organize, and implement product information updates and lifecycle changes within internal and external systems (e.g., Syndigo/RiverSand) to facilitate swift and precise product introductions and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular audits of database changes, assessment reports, catalog interchanges, and e-commerce sites to ensure the accuracy and quality of product listings.
  • Guarantee timely and accurate ACES & PIES deliveries to partners while maintaining detailed records in the company’s project management system.
  • Manage data discrepancy processes, including OEM research, analysis, normalization, and documentation.
  • Act as the primary contact for data-related inquiries from stakeholders to ensure prompt and accurate resolutions.
eCommerce Product Management
  • Work alongside the Digital Marketing Specialist to optimize product content for performance and search engine optimization (SEO) where applicable.
Data Management
  • Establish and uphold database standards, industry best practices, and internal documentation repositories, including process documentation, workflows, and database architectures.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows and processes with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement in data quality.
  • Utilize machine learning and AI capabilities to streamline and scale product data solutions for long-term efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Sales, and IT teams to develop and manage work plans related to PIM and database projects, ensuring alignment with team and retailer objectives.
  • Employ the company’s project management system for full transparency of tasks and projects, ensuring meticulous record-keeping.
Project Management
  • Engage in departmental meetings and perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, with proven experience in product information or master data management, as well as big data quality assurance.
  • A resourceful, technically adept, and detail-oriented team player with a successful track record in cross-functional projects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with the following criteria:
    • Strong analytical skills, capable of navigating complex data sets to inform decision-making.
    • Demonstrated success in defining and achieving product roadmap goals.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical capabilities, employing a holistic, data-driven approach to challenges.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and SQL, with comfort in manipulating and auditing large data sets (over 1 million rows) and conceptualizing database architecture.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills, able to work within set deadlines.
    • Experience in eCommerce or digital product management.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners.
    • Proven ability to conduct training and coaching for stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with strong time management skills.
    • Experience in automotive or industrial data is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with PIM systems (Syndigo or Stibo), project management software (JIRA, ZoHo), SQL/no-SQL, and Python is beneficial.
    • Basic understanding of SEO best practices is a plus.
    • Experience with Auto Care Association Automotive Aftermarket (AAIA) standards and databases is a plus.
