Position Overview

The Product Data Specialist is a vital contributor to the marketing team based in Hillsboro, NH (remote work is possible within a few hours of our headquarters). The marketing team oversees various marketing functions, including advertising, communications, product launches, product data management, retailer-specific in-store signage, merchandising, omni-channel excellence, research, and trade shows.

Reporting to the Catalog Data/Digital Marketing Manager, the Product Data Specialist is responsible for upholding the integrity of our product data utilized on both ams AG Gr and retailer websites and POS systems. This role is essential for establishing a solid foundation to manage and expand our digital business, ensuring a positive customer experience.

This position demands meticulous attention to detail, a solid understanding of data architecture, project management, and product management systems, as well as the establishment of best practices within the organization.

Primary Responsibilities ::

Application & Product Information Management System
  • Lead initiatives such as the implementation of a global PIM Platform (Stibo) and database UI, focusing on data quality, governance, automated source data normalization, and industry-leading processes to support scalable efforts aligned with the evolving needs of our organization.
  • Collect, organize, and execute updates to product information and lifecycle changes within internal and external systems (e.g., Syndigo/RiverSand) to facilitate swift and accurate product introductions and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular audits of AAIA Database Changes, Receiver Assessment Reports, Catalog Interchanges, and eCommerce sites to ensure the accuracy and quality of listings.
  • Guarantee timely and precise ACES & PIES deliveries to receivers while maintaining detailed records in the company PMS.
  • Manage data discrepancy processes, including OEM research, analysis, normalization, record-keeping, and reporting within internal systems.
  • Act as the primary contact for any data-related issues from stakeholders, ensuring prompt and accurate resolutions.
eCommerce Product Management
  • Collaborate with the Digital Marketing Specialist to optimize product content for performance and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) where applicable.
Data Management
  • Establish and uphold database standards, industry best practices, and the content of internal knowledge-sharing/documentation repositories, including documenting processes, workflows, queries, formulas, and database architectures.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance workflows and processes with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement in data quality.
  • Utilize machine learning/AI and other system capabilities to simplify and scale product data solutions for long-term efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with Product, Marketing, Sales, and IT teams to develop and manage work plans related to PIM, product, and application database projects, ensuring alignment with team and retailer objectives.
  • Utilize the company PMS for full transparency of all tasks and project management, ensuring impeccable record-keeping.
Project Management
  • Participate in departmental meetings and perform additional tasks and related duties as assigned.
Who we are looking for
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Engineering, or a related field, with proven experience in product information or master data management, as well as big data QA.
  • A resourceful, technically adept, and detail-oriented team player with a successful track record in cross-functional teams/projects.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with the following criteria:
    • Strong analytical skills: capable of navigating complex data sets to inform decisions.
    • Demonstrated success in defining product roadmap goals and exceeding them.
    • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, employing a holistic data-driven approach to decision-making.
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and SQL, with proficiency in manipulating, leveraging, and auditing large data sets (>1MM rows) and conceptualizing database architecture.
    • Outstanding attention to detail and time management skills, adhering to specified deadlines.
    • Experience in eCommerce or digital product management.
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners.
    • Proven capability to conduct and coordinate training for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with excellent time management skills.
    • Previous experience in automotive or industrial data is advantageous.
    • Familiarity with PIM (Syndigo or Stibo), FileZilla, project management software (JIRA, ZoHo), SQL/no-SQL, and Python is beneficial.
    • A basic understanding of SEO best practices is a plus.
    • Experience with Auto Care Association Automotive Aftermarket (AAIA) standards and databases is a plus.
