Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatrician to join our team at the Department of Defense. As a Pediatrician, you will be responsible for providing medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, and will work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to infants, children, and adolescents, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment plans
  • Write progress notes, including history, physical, laboratory data, assessment, and plan on individual outpatients
  • Exercise admitting privileges and write daily progress notes for selected patients
  • Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement, peer review, and similar professional medical activities
  • Participate in in-service training and informal training and teaching of military, Department of the Army Civilian, and contract nurse clinicians, physician's assistants, nurses, and medical assistants
Requirements
  • Must have a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from a school in the United States or Canada
  • Must have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • Must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of Pediatrics and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 4 years
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to make quick decisions in emergency situations. The selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross. The position may include shift work (evenings, weekends, holidays) and requires the ability to work in a team environment.
