Job Overview

Salary: $28+ per hour (Based on Experience)

Rice Companies is seeking a Steel Foreman to oversee construction activities. The Steel Foreman will act as a leader for on-site operations, ensuring that all construction tasks are executed efficiently and effectively. This role involves coordinating with various teams, managing schedules, and maintaining safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities in alignment with project plans, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent and other management personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit daily reports regarding labor hours and tasks performed by subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Assist in managing the construction timeline, proactively identifying and resolving issues, while adhering to budget constraints and ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Organize and document necessary inspections in conjunction with project management and subcontractors.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow employees.
  • Promote a culture of safety on the job site, encouraging safe practices and addressing hazards promptly.
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment, including the construction office.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of comprehensive experience in commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor team members.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is required.
  • Valid equipment certifications (e.g., scissor lift, forklifts, boom lifts, skid steer).
  • Strong proficiency with construction tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented individual with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Effective scheduling and multitasking skills in a Microsoft Office environment.

Additional Information:

  • Successful candidates will undergo post-offer, pre-employment screenings, which may include a DOT Medical Card exam, Fitness for Duty exam, Non-DOT drug screening, and a Criminal Background Check.

Basic tools are required to be supplied by each individual field employee.
Rice Companies provides all power tools, shirts, and safety equipment.

Availability for overnight travel (Monday - Friday, 50-75%) is required.
