Rice Companies is seeking a Steel Foreman to oversee our construction projects. The Steel Foreman plays a crucial role in leading site operations for Rice Companies' self-performing construction tasks. This position involves managing and coordinating all on-site construction activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, timely scheduling, and budget compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site activities in alignment with the project construction plan, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent, Production Manager, and Project Management team.
  • Assist in maintaining records and submitting daily project reports regarding all subcontractors, suppliers, and Rice Companies labor hours and assigned tasks.
  • Support the upkeep of the construction schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues, managing the budget, and ensuring quality workmanship that aligns with original project specifications.
  • Organize and document inspections as required, in partnership with the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and subcontractors.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow Rice Companies employees.
  • Advocate for job site safety, promoting safe work practices, and promptly addressing any job site hazards.
  • Ensure a clean and organized job site, including the construction office area.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, or mentor team members.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is required.
  • Certifications for operating equipment such as scissor lifts, forklifts, boom lifts, and skid steers.
  • Proficient in the use of construction tools and equipment, including saws, drills, levels, transits, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and prints.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Competence in scheduling and multitasking within a Microsoft Office environment.

Availability for overnight travel (Monday - Friday, 50-75%) is required.
