Rice Companies is seeking a Steel Foreman to oversee our construction projects. The Steel Foreman plays a crucial role in directing site activities and managing the crew involved in self-performing construction tasks. This position also involves coordinating all construction efforts of Rice Companies personnel, suppliers, and subcontractors to uphold the highest standards of quality control, safety protocols, timely scheduling, and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities in alignment with the project plan, collaborating closely with the Project Superintendent, Production Manager, and Project Management team.
  • Assist in documenting and submitting daily project reports concerning all subcontractors, suppliers, and Rice Companies labor hours and tasks assigned.
  • Support the maintenance of the construction schedule, proactively identifying and resolving issues, ensuring budget compliance, and guaranteeing quality workmanship that aligns with original project specifications.
  • Coordinate and record inspections as needed, working alongside the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, and subcontractors.
  • Foster and maintain effective relationships with clients, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and fellow Rice Companies employees.
  • Advocate for job site safety, promote safe work practices, and promptly address and rectify any job site hazards.
  • Ensure a clean and organized job site, including the construction office area.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of three (3) years of extensive, hands-on experience in commercial construction.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, or mentor team members.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is required.
  • Certifications for equipment operation (e.g., scissor lift, forklifts, boom lifts, skid steer).
  • Strong proficiency with construction tools and equipment, including saws, drills, levels, transits, and hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented individual with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Competence in scheduling and multitasking within a Microsoft Office environment.
